Wizards in Winter

Album: The Lost Christmas Eve (2004)

Songfacts®:

  • This is an instrumental for the Christmas season, which is Trans-Siberian Orchestra's specialty. There aren't many modern orchestral Christmas works, but this has endured, showing up on radio playlists of various formats every winter. It became Trans-Siberian Orchestra's most famous song.
  • The song was popularized in a 2005 commercial for Miller Lite beer that showed a house decked out with Christmas lights synchronized to this song. The tagline: "Enjoy The Lites."
The beer commercial was inspired by videos that circulated on the Internet showing Christmas light shows coordinated with this song. >>>

  • Dave from Greer, ScAmazing band, puts on an amazing show. Book your tickets six months in advance. I'm just sad that I didn't get into them until December 2012, right after they'd just finished their final tour of Beethoven's Last Night. Their Christmas albums are great too, though!
  • Roman from Barrie, OnFinally saw TSO at Massey Hall(seats about 2800) in Toronto where they performed "Beethoven's Last Night". This performance was a 'rock opera' and the music was very similar to "Wizards in Winter" The musicians and the whole show were out of this world. I highly recommend attending one of their shows or buying their music; unlike other artists their music is timeless.
  • Jim from Wellington, OhWe went this past weekend, and it was incredible. The lights, sounds and pyro were spectacular. If you ever get the chance to see them in concert, it is a must see.
  • Roman from Barrie, OnI've only seen parts of their concerts on the internet and TV and have this particular album. It is a LOUD, MUSICAL, EXPLOSION, that sets them apart from traditional Christmas music and similar bands like ELO and Manheim Steam Roller.
