Songfacts®:

  • The Jackboys are a collection of rappers who are all signed to Travis Scott's Cactus Jack Records. "Gatti" was recorded for the Houston rapper's Cactus Jack compilation EP Jackboys. The track features verses by Scott and Brooklyn rapper Pop Smoke, who also is on hook duties. It was Travis and Pop Smoke's first time working together.
  • The song title is short for Bugatti, which are high-performance automobiles well known for their elegant design. Pope Smokes brags in his verse:

And I'm in that Bugatti, movin' two hundred (Bah)

Most of the lyrical content is standard fare about luxury cars and girls.
  • Travis seemingly refers to his high-profile split from his girlfriend Kylie Jenner in his verse.

Duck away, she wanna lay up and hibernate
Took a chance, it's a lot to take

Travis Scott first began dating Kylie Jenner in the spring of 2017. Early in the following year, the reality TV star gave birth to daughter Stormi Webster, but the pair called it quits in late summer 2019. Now, while Scott keeps himself busy on the road touring, Kylie spends much of her time in southern California where her beauty business is based. They have maintained a good relationship and are still seen on occasions together with Stormi.
  • "Gutti" features a UK drill beat courtesy of British producers 808Melo and AXL Beats.
  • The song's music video follows the two rappers riding in a brand new Bugatti Chiron.
