  • When Triumph reunited in 2008 for a string of comeback concerts, drummer Gil Moore suggested adding this song to the set, telling frontman Rik Emmett he thought the lyrics were some of the best Rik ever wrote.

In 2012, Triumph lead singer/guitarist Rik Emmett told Songfacts that he put this song back into his solo live show as well. Although he generally prefers not to revisit old material, Rik explained this decision, saying, "I'd kind of forgotten about it, but it's kind of a cool song. There's maybe seven or eight Triumph songs where I'd kind of go 'Yeah, yeah. Those were pretty good.'"
  • Triumph frontman Rik Emmett says this song is a good example of the kind of positive, uplifting songs that he tried to write while he was in the band. He believed the band's name meant something and this song one of the ones he wrote to help create a triumphant image in his fans' minds.
  • What is it with Canadian artists and "Never Surrender"? Corey Hart of Montreal had a #3 US hit with his "Never Surrender" in 1985. Triumph is from Toronto.
