Songfacts®:

  • Ty Segall's 14th studio album, Hello, Hi, is chock-full of ruminations and surreal imagery. Here he's knitted somebody a cement sweater. Segall assures them wearing his weighty jumper will make them feel better as:

    You won't feel the rain
    Or any condensation ever again
  • Uncut magazine commented on how the lyric about the cement sweater has connotations of comfort and cosiness, but is abrasive and uncomfortable at the same time. "It's the heaviness of feeling comfortable," Segall replied. "I like the image of putting on a sweater and going, ugh, it's so heavy. And then just laying down and sinking into the floor."
  • Mostly an acoustic affair, Segall recorded Hello, Hi, mostly by himself at his home studio.
