Songfacts®:

  • This song serves as Farr's tribute to the men and women of the US Armed Forces. He told Taste of Country: "The United States military mean a lot to me, and this was me showing my gratitude and respect towards them."
  • Tyler Farr wrote the song with Houston Phillips and Dallas Davidson. He told The Boot: "I was wanting to write a song that was kind of an honor to the military, but in a classy way, not a tongue-in-cheek, in-your-face, red-white-and-blue way... and it was one of my favorite songs on the album. I think we got accomplished what we wanted to, and that was to show some respect and write a military song without shoving it down people's throats."
  • Farr wrote this following a trip overseas to perform on a Navy tour in the Persian Gulf. "There's fighter jets flying out with bombs and coming back with none," he recalled to Radio.com. "They're over there sacrificing being with their family to let us be able to walk the streets without having to worry about something happening to us. It was a song I wrote to show gratitude and respect and to honor those men and women. It's the least I could do for them for what they do for us."
