Songfacts®:

  • This progressive rock song opens the band's third studio record, Anchor Drops. The title of the song was inspired by the group's first drummer, Mike Mirro. Umphrey's McGee's singer and guitarist, Brendan Bayliss, explained in our interview the amusing story behind the title: "He clogged a backstage toilet and as it leaked into the room we were all sitting in, he walked in with the plunger inside out and said 'the plunger is broken.'"

    We didn't press for details.
