  • Here, Willie Nelson pokes fun at the constant rumors about his impending death. "I got up two or three times in the last couple of years and read the paper where I'd passed away," Nelson said of the inspiration for the song. "So I just wanted to let 'em know that's a lot of horses--t."
  • Nelson penned the song with Buddy Cannon, the producer and songwriter who co-wrote half the songs on God's Problem Child.
  • Asked by Uncut magazine about the inspiration for the song, Buddy Cannon replied: "I feel like every six or eight months, on social media somebody will come up with a story that Willie has died. We just thought it was kind of funny. I can't remember how the song got started, but we laughed as we wrote it. It's funny but it's basically saying, 'Oh well, I lived and I had a good time, and it's OK... But I'm not dead!'"
