Songfacts®:

  • This song includes the lyric "My love is cool" but the album title didn't actually come from this song. Instead, it was taken from the hidden track at the end of the record, and then the lyric for "Freazy" was borrowed for this song. Vocalist and guitarist Ellie Rowsell explained to Coup de Main magazine: "The fact that it pops up twice made us knew it was a phrase that was sticking in our heads that we liked. Most of the songs on the album aren't love songs, yet I say this phrase twice."

"Freazy," she added, "is kind of about sticking together with your gang. I thought that there was a sentiment running through - that our love is not a typical romance-song love. It's different than that."
  • This is one of Wolf Alice's older songs and the band had reservations about including it on Love Is Cool. Roswell explained to Tonedeaf.com: "We were apprehensive to but it on the album 'cause it felt a bit too much like a jump from anything we've released before. It's not a song we feel comfortable playing live just yet 'cause it's so pop. It's almost awkward. But we just loved listening to it, so we couldn't not put it on."
