Songfacts®:

  • The lead single and title track to Wolfmother's fourth studio album, this full-on rocker focuses on a female, but it wasn't always that way. Frontman Andrew Stockdale explained to Loudwire: "Initially it was 'we will be victorious,' then I just kind of thought, I didn't want to make it like enemy-driven. I thought if I put in 'she' it sort of rounds it off a little bit.

Essentially the message is like, if you wake up in the morning that's a victory, you know? It's all about small victories we have, whatever it might be. More so than a battle, you know that kind of competitive thing because that can be a bit one dimensional. That's how I see it at least."
  • The song's campy video was directed by Brother Willis. It shows an epic battle in space between a sword-wielding Barbarella-type heroine and an evil ruler. Stockdale explained to Mashable: "The video is about a girl who's held hostage by evil alien folk, but upon hearing the powers of Wolfmother's smash hit rock 'n roll extravaganza, the heroine is set free from the dark forces of the universe."

"It is with this knowledge that all forces are combined through the rite of Wolfmother riffmania," he added. "And we had a blast shooting it."
