Songfacts®:

  • Wu-Tang Clan open their A Better Tomorrow album with this cut whose title references their 1993 cut "Bring da Ruckus." That song was the first track on their debut set Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).
  • The song starts with a posthumous vocal from the late Ol' Dirty Bastard. "It's the ODB kid, once again coming through your area," he raps. "And I'm going to tell you one time, you gon' love this." Inspectah Deck, Raekwon, U-God, Cappadonna, Ghostface Killah, Masta Killah, RZA and GZA then each take a turn at dropping a verse over RZA's cinematic beat.
  • In the year leading up to the A Better Tomorrow album, RZA and Raekwon had a very public disagreement about the direction of their music. RZA's verse on this song puts the beef to rest:

GZA, this is called 'Ruckus in B Minor
Rae, all those bad times is behind us
    .

Raekwon told MTV News in October 2014: "To the world, it's always looking like me and RZA going at it,. But it's bigger than me and RZA. It's the organization that, every now and then, you go through turbulence, because of what's going on in the house of Wu. I'm protective of the brand, and I always want us to be feeling good about everything that we do and give to the world."
