Songfacts®:

  • Singer Josh Franceschi told Kerrang about the background to this track:

"This was the sort of song I've been waiting for us to write for a while, and it was probably my favorite song musically to write, too. Lyrically it was kinda written on behalf of other people in my life, about not letting the past dictate your future, particularly when it comes to having a partner. There's a line that says, 'If your past calls. Don't pick up. It's got nothing new to say,' which is at the heart of what I'm trying to say."
