Danger Line

  • My sixteen locked and loaded
    All fear has been avoided
You say the words and my weapon is drawn

This one could be my last time
Some people call it war crime
I may be staring down a lethal sight

    (To die)

Nothing shocks you like a bullet hole
Leaving my fear on the danger line
Suffering a man should never know
Leaving my faith on the danger line

I do this for my family
    My daughter loves her daddy
Too many talk down on things they don't know

    With colors never faded
    Reckless and unabated
They may take me but never take us all (I'll crawl)

Nothing shocks you like a bullet hole
Leaving my fear on the danger line
Suffering no man should ever know
Leaving my faith on the danger line

    I know what you're thinking
    I've been there before
    So think of the times
The time we spent laughing away
So think of the times at home

Now I found myself in my own blood
(never thought I'd lay in my own blood)
The damage done is far beyond repair
I never put my faith in up above
(never had much faith in up above)
But now, I'm hoping someone's there

Never meant to leave this world alone
I never meant to hurt the ones who cared
And all this time I thought we'd just grow old
You know, no one said it's fair

Tell my baby girl that it's alright
I've sung my last song today
Remind the Lord to leave his light on for me

  • Jo from Ohio Usa I could definitely see how it could be interpreted the way you are saying Josh...and I feel it is really cool that you read into the song and found a deeper meaning there...I often find myself doing the same sort of thing.
  • Josh from Canada, BcPS I should have proofed my comment before posting... my bad. I was thinking faster than I was typing. I meant an extremely lousy relationship in my first line, and the second line I meant to say "It seems like any dummy..."
  • Josh from Canada, BcAnyone else interpret this song to be a person in a very extremely relationship that gets their heart broken then tries to move on? The seems like any dummy can say its a song about war and a guy dying. To me it seems like girl does/says something so devastating that it is like a bullethole that shocks guy. Guy goes through the dying stage which is a realization that things are over between him and his crappy relationship but at the same time thinks that he will miss it. The last line of the song of "im free" is an ironic paradox for the fact that he is free from pain and on to a heaven/eternal life but is it a good free now that he has left his human life and "GF?" My interpretation is that he is free from the crappy relationship but the paradox of freeness would be the loss of his deep emotional connection to the girl. Anybody?
  • Parker from Carbon Hill, Alall right! first comment! this is a great song, my favorite off their new album though would be natural born killers
