• John Wayne “wheelz” Rossi from Easton, Pa.So, when I first heard Dawes, they sounded a lot like Jackson Brown to me. Is that an obvious observation?
  Jackson Brown’s early music, and most of the early California Country Rock, was made better sounding by the guy on lap and pedal steel, named Dave Lindley. He had a unique sound, and look, that made hime stand out in my mind. And, his version of “Mercury Blues”, with his band, El Rayo X, is my favorite.
  Now, yesterday, I was driving in my car and listening to the local college station, when the song came on. I’ve heard the song numerous times before and it never hit me, but, when the lap/pedal steel lead comes in, my mind clicks and I think, “Wow! Dave Lindley!”. Of course! If these guys are fans of Jackson Brown, who else would they get to play on their songs?
  And, now I have to ask the question. Does anyone know if that is, indeed, Dave Lindley, playing on this song? To me it’s unmistakeable. Please, let me know.

• Stevo from Los Angeles, Ca"A Little Bit Of Everything" is a song of hopelessness and hopefulness. The first verse concerns a young guy about to commit suicide, and the second has an older man who has lost some hope but is optimistic regarding his future. The third verse finds a fiancee who is confident about her marriage. All three have a different sense of what "a little bit of everything" means to their lives.
  
  
  
  Taylor Goldsmith (the writer) said in UK's The Sun newspaper that "I was just excited about taking a phrase that I could use for a guy who was trying to explain how the world weighs on him and at the same time, for a guy explaining what he wants to eat." (G., Bill) "The song is very meaningful, the music is very quiet" (Haroun) and a couple of appropriate minor-key chords simply add to the melancholy. The lifetime results of accumulated experiences on the characters in this song briefly cause a comparable reaction with the listener. When I first heard this song, it had a very powerful effect on me, too.
