  • Ya better come inside when you're ready to
But no chance if ya don't want to dance
You're like four letter words when you're ready to
But then you won't 'cause you know that you can
You got it, but are you gettin' it?
You say that love is won when you get some
But then your finger won't trigger the gun
You know you (ya) can't stop it
    So don't rock it
    You know you got it
Hey, but are you gettin' it?
    Really gettin' it?
    Come get it from me

    [Chorus:]
Gimme all of your lovin' - ev'ry little bit
Gimme all that you got - ev'ry bit of it
Ev'ry bit of your lovin' - oh, see'mon live a bit
    Never want it to stop
Yeah, but are you gettin' it? - Armageddon it!
Ooh, really gettin' it? - Yes, Armageddon it!

You try comin' on when you need some...
But then you don't "cause you already did
Yeah, you jangle your jewels while your shakin' ya...
And drive the pretty boys outta their heads
You got it, but are you gettin' it?
You flash you bedroom eyes like a jumpin' jack...
Then play it pretty with a pat on the back
You know you (ya) can't stop it
    So don't rock it
    You know you got it
Hey, but are you gettin' it?
    Ooh, really gettin' it?
    Come get it from me

    [Chorus:]

    See'mon, Steve, get it
Take it, take it, take it from me
I got an itchy finger following me
Pull it, pull it, see'mon trigger the gun
'Cause the best is (a) yet to come, I say
'Cause the best is yet to come
Are you gettin' it? Really gettin' it?
Oh, come get it from me

Gimme all of your lovin' - ev'ry little bit
Gimme all that you got - ev'ry bit of it
Ev'ry bit of your lovin' - Oh, come on live a bit
Never want it to stop - Oh, are you getting it?
Gimme all of your lovin' - Ooh really gettin' it?
Gimme all that you got - Oh are you getting it?
Gimme all of your lovin' - Oh live a bit
Gimme all that you got - Whoa, live a bit
You've got to live it - gimme all of your lovin'
Ooh baby live it - gimme all that you got
See'mon and give it - ev'ry bit of your lovin'
Oh come on and give it - Never want it to stop

Oh are you gettin' it? - Gimme all of you lovin'
Ooh really gettin' it? - Gimme all that you got
Oh are you gettin' it? - Ev'ry bit of your lovin'
Oh live a bit - Never want it to stop Writer/s: Joseph Thomas Elliott, Philip Kenneth Collen, Richard John Cyril Allen, Richard Savage, Robert John Lange, Stephen Maynard Clark

  • Mark from Paducah, KyThe album was released in 1987 but the song wasn't released as a single until 1988 (not 1987 as stated above)
  • Curt from Tulsa, OkJoe Elliot's line "C'mon Steve..." (before Steve Clark's awesome guitar solo) was replaced with "C'mon Boys" or not used at all in performances following Steve's Death in 1991.
  • Linc from Beaumont, TxTo Myra in Chicago - Bringing on the Heartbreak probably didn't make the cut because it's actually connected to the Switch 656 (? exact title) that follows it on the album. The version you hear on the radio is a DJ/promotional version/single for radio play. However, they might have rated the greatest hits by record sales etc. and I while this is probably my favorite Leppard song - it wasn't that popular.
  • Linc from Beaumont, TxDef Lep, like a lot of post-Beatles British bands, often "borrow" Beatle-montra of clever word play.
  • Jeff from Cambridge, United KingdomYep, Ricky above is right about the fact that the song's title is a play on the words 'I am getting it' which is a popular British response to being asked about one's sex life: 'Are you getting it?' 'Armageddon It....'

    (geddit?)

  • Myra from Chicago, IlOh, and PS, where the heck's "Bringin' On the Heartbreak"!? :-o
  • Myra from Chicago, IlI just got a Def Leppard Greatest Hits CD and this, along with other top hits are on there! Many happy listening hours to me!
  • Milagros from Lima, PeruI LOVE THIS SONG!IT'S REALLY GREAT!AND THE BAND IS GREAT TOO!
  • Evan from Otway, OhThis song is what makes Hysteria stand out for me (other than the title track). If it wasn't for this song, Pyromania would be my favorite album. Their both neck and neck for me. Great song; so great, that I can't believe more people havn't commented on it yet! =(
  • Charlie from Ph, PaThe Beggining chords sound kinda like the beggining chords of Rock Of Ages.
  • Milagros from Lima, PeruESTA CANCION ME ENCANTA,ESE "COME ON STEVE,GET IT" ES MUY CHIDO,LA CANCION ES BIEN ROCKERONA,TIPICO DE DL Y LA VERDAD ME ENCANTA,ES LA SONG KE MAS ME GUSTA DE DL,ME LOKEO MUCHO CUANDO LA ESCUCHO!EL VIDEO TMB ES MUY COOL Y CHIDO,DL ROCKS!!!
  • Greg from Fairmount, InThe band wrote this song based on the T.rex style of lyric writing, it's not supposed to be taken seriously. Phil (guitar) has stated it was Savs (bass) creation in the beginning. I find more meaning in these lyrics than Marc Bolans cuz his are just OUT THERE!! But this is a great song and it really is a crowd getter at live shows cuz it's a fun lovers song, you can tell when you watch the band live, at least thats the impression I get.
  • Meredith from Grand Forks, NdIt's not a play on OUR you gettin it, it's a play on ARE you gettin it
  • Nick from Paramus, NjYes definately one of my favorites from Histeria, along with "Love Bites", "Run Riot", and "Gods of War".
  • Anonymous from Dixon , CaThis is one of the greatest 'Leppard songs ever.
