    Wild boys
    Wild boys
    Wild boys

    Wild, wild, boys, boys

    The wild boys are calling
On their way back from the fire
    In August moon's surrender to
A dust cloud on the rise

Wild boys fallen far from glory
    Reckless and so hungered
On the razors edge you trail
Because there's murder by the roadside
In a sore afraid new world
    They tried to break us
    Looks like they'll try again

Wild boys (wild boys) never lose it
Wild boys (wild boys) never chose this way
Wild boys (wild boys) never close your eyes
    Wild boys always shine

You got sirens for a welcome
    There's bloodstain for your pain
    And your telephone been ringing
While you're dancing in the rain
Wild boys wonder where is glory
    Where is all you angels

Now the figureheads of have fell
    And lovers war with arrows
    Over secrets they could tell
They tried to tame you looks like they'll try again

Wild boys (wild boys) never lose it
Wild boys (wild boys) never chose this way
Wild boys (wild boys) never close your eyes
    Wild boys always shine

    Wild boys
    Wild boys
    Wild boys

    Wild boys
    Wild boys
    Wild boys

Wild boys (wild boys) never lose it
Wild boys (wild boys) never chose this way
Wild boys (wild boys) never close your eyes
    Wild boys always

Wild boys (wild boys) never lose it
Wild boys (wild boys) never chose this way
Wild boys (wild boys) never close your eyes
    Wild boys always

Wild boys (wild boys) never lose it
Wild boys (wild boys) never chose this way
Wild boys (wild boys) never close your eyes
    Wild boys always

  • Moosehead from Sci like this one best, even as a teenage boy who would never admit to liking duran duran. until ordinary world. excellent
  • Mr Truth Seeker from Moonbase Ninecan anyone please identify all the film clips included in the long version of the wild boys video?
the only one I can identify is 'Barbarella' but I'm sure there are some others?
  • Freebs from UkThe head in the video was made by Graham Freeborn, son of Stuart Freeborn the creator of Yoda et al.
  • Jonny Slocum from Pikes PeakI always thought this was about an S & M orgy.
  • J.r. from Wellington, New ZealandWait wasn't this used in "Doomsday" was concert footage. Perhaps I'm confusing my songs or movies that does happen time and again. excuse any typos I've been drinking all day (all week actually) and downing Xanax by the handful. A few vicodin thrown in for good measure. No wonder I keep dreaming of a post apocolyptic future. Of course it could also be that I keep watching "Mad Max", "The Road Warrior", "Doomsday", and the best Will Smith film ever made "I am Legend" for like a week straight. Oh yeah I forgot to mention "A Boy and his Dog" and "Starship Troopers". Whoo-Hoo.
  • Aaron from Columbus, OhKatie is correct. They actually had to give Simon a straw to breathe through for a minute while he was under water.
  • Maria from Philadelphia, Pa"Wild Boys" is the only studio track that appears on the band's live Arena album.

The video that was typically in rotation on MTV was a radically shortened version of a much longer video.

During the video, while Simon is suspended on the windmill, Nick Rhodes is imprisoned in a cage with a synthesizer, and John Taylor is tied to the hood of a car (an Aston Martin, I believe).
  • Ronnie from Huddersfield, EnglandApparently Simon Le Bon was raised in the wild by a pack of wolves
  • Dee from Indianapolis, InWho cares which video cost more, Duran Duran has talent, Jackson got lucky. Anyway, I remember this as a hit back in 84' when I was 15. I still think this is one of their better tunes. I know alot of fans don't care for this one as much. Maybe it's the good memories that I recall when I hear it.
  • Katie from Memphis, TnActually, it's not that Simon didn't hold his breath during the windmill scene. What really happened was the windmill got stuck/broke when Simon was underwater. It took them a bit to get it working again and to get Simon out from underneath the water. Simon of course downplays this but all witnesses of the event say he really could've died from it.
  • Long-timed2fan from Noplacelikehome, CanadaJust a comment on the last Songfact: the video for "Wild Boys" was filmed in 1984, at least a year before Simon had his yachting accident in 1985.
  • Michelle from Seattle, WaThriller was in '83. This was in '84.
  • Per from Odense, DenmarkHmmm ...I thought "Thriller" by Michael Jackson was the most expensive video at that time...?!
