Stacy, can I come over after school? (after school)
We can hang around by the pool (hang by the pool)
Did your mom get back from her business trip? (business trip)
Is she there, or is she trying to give me the slip? (give me the slip)

You know, I'm not the little boy that I used to be
I'm all grown up now, baby can't you see

Stacy's mom has got it goin' on
She's all I want and I've waited for so long
Stacy, can't you see you're just not the girl for me
I know it might be wrong but I'm in love with Stacy's mom

Stacy's mom has got it goin' on
Stacy's mom has got it goin' on

Stacy, do you remember when I mowed your lawn? (mowed your lawn)
Your mom came out with just a towel on (towel on)
I could tell she liked me from the way she stared (way she stared)
And the way she said, "You missed a spot over there" (a spot over there)

And I know that you think it's just a fantasy
But since your dad walked out, your mom could use a guy like me

Stacy's mom has got it goin' on
She's all I want, and I've waited so long
Stacy, can't you see you're just not the girl for me
I know it might be wrong
But I'm in love with Stacy's mom

Stacy's mom has got it goin' on
She's all I want and I've waited for so long
Stacy can't you see you're just not the girl for me
I know it might be wrong
I'm in love with Stacy's mom, oh oh
I'm in love with Stacy's mom, oh oh (wait a minute)
Stacy can't you see you're just not the girl for me
I know it might be wrong, but
I'm in love with Stacy's mom Writer/s: Adam Schlesinger, Christopher B Collingwood

  • Michael from San Diego, CaNice reference to "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" with the pool bikini scene
  • Sissy from Baton Rouge LaI immediately thought of the movie "Valley Girl" and the friend "Suzi" and her boyfriend "Skip" who seems to have a thing for Suzi's stepmom "Beth" and vice-versa. Skip, seemingly looking for Beth after some flirtations on her part, arrives at the house, goes in the unlocked door, finds a person in the shower and they end up in bed. Meanwhile another person arrives home and is shocked to find them in bed. The implication by filming without faces being seen is that Skip has bedded Beth, but really he has bedded Suzi. Skip and Suzi are still together when prom time arrives. So too bad conniving step-mom, LOL.
  • Joel from West Hollywood, CaEr...They never play this song anymore on the radio. I've got the cd and the single on my iPod.
  • Harold from San Bernadino, CaWonder why the first 2 albums aren't mentioned or any tracks available from those. this is just my opinion, but i think the first 2 albums are even better than Interstate Managers------truly an amazing and talented band.
  • Jack from Elmira, NyThe man who plays the Massaur plays Kurt Cobain in Last Days.
  • Reed from New Ulm, MnWhat in the world ever became of these guys?...their albums, not only interstate; but their first 3 albums were just great! Very underated band to say the least.
  • Jessie from Cobourg, Demike you live in cobourg too? huh small world.
  • James Freeman from Cincinnati, OhI've always thought this song came out as a result of the movie, American Pie, referencing Stifler's Mom. It's not a long shot from that to Stacy's Mom.
  • Leah from Humboldt, Iabut, wouldn't it be weird to be stacy?
  • Dakota from Perris, CaI honestly like the song
  • Stephen from Portland, OrThis song is by far the weakest track on the incredible album Welcome Interstate Managers. Combined with incessant air play, I skip it every time it plays on the CD.
  • Emily from Lv, Nji think its kind of stupid that the music video is about a kid who has a crush on his friends mom. but its even grosser that a band memeber had a crush on his friends grandmother. i like the song tho. like the way it sounds and stuff and i like to sing it even tho it is kind of stupid.
  • Fyodor from Denver, CoI grew up in Wayne, NJ. The band takes its name from a business at the southern end of the town near the well traveled "Willowbrook Interchange" (named for the nearby Willowbrook Mall) where Interstate 80 and US Highways 23 and 46 all converge. I think it is from Route 46 that the sign for Fountains of Wayne is seen.
  • Caitlin from Upper Township, NjThis song is seriously overplayed. I really liked it when it first came out, but now it is just annoying!
  • Mike from Cobourg, CanadaFountains of Wayne were also known as "The Wonders". They performed the song "That Thing You Do" from the movie, "The Wonders"
  • John from Lumberton, TxHe had a crush on his friends grandma!? I used to make fun of this song by going I know it might be wrong but im in love with stacys grandma!
  • Veronica from I Forget. . ., Dei love this song so much! on MTV2 they have a show called video mods and they did this song as if the sims2 were singing it.
  • Brian from Lisbon, Portugalcan someone tell me why the card one the door just at the end of the video is in portuguese?(ocupado)
  • Dave from East Greenwich, RiThe first person's name written under "This "alblum is dedicated to" is, u guessed it, Stacy
  • George from Salisbury, CtThis songs solo rocks!
  • Caitlin from Cape Town, South AfricaI got this video on my PC. And I can't stop watching it whilst singing along! :D hehe
