  • Midnight gettin' uptight, where are you?
You said you'd meet me, now, it's quarter to two
I know I'm hangin' but I'm still wantin' you

Hey Jack, it's a fact they're talkin' in town
I turn my back and you're messin' around
I'm not really jealous, don't like lookin' like a clown

I think of you every night and day
You took my heart and you took my pride away

I hate myself for lovin' you
Can't break free from the things that you do
I wanna walk but I run back to you
That's why I hate myself for loving you
    Ow, uh

Daylight spent the night without you
But I've been dreamin' 'bout the lovin' you do
I'm over being angry 'bout the hell you put me through

Hey man, bet you can treat me right
You just don't know what you was missin' last night
I wanna see you begging, say, "Forget it" just for spite

I think of you every night and day
You took my heart and you took my pride away

I hate myself for loving you
Can't break free from the things that you do
I wanna walk but I run back to you
That's why I hate myself for loving you
    Ow, uh

I think of you every night and day
You took my heart and you took my pride away

I hate myself for loving you
Can't break free from the things that you do
I wanna walk but I run back to you
That's why I hate myself for loving you

I hate myself for loving you
Can't break free from the things that you do
I wanna walk but I run back to you
That's why I hate myself for loving you

    I hate myself (ow, uh)
    For loving you (alright)
    I hate myself (ow, uh)
    For loving you
I hate myself (ow, ow, ow)
    For loving you
    I hate myself (ow, uh)

  • George from Vancouver, CanadaToo bad she didn't do a bootleg version of the orginal lyrics. . .
  • Randy from Houghton Lake, MiI like Aerosmith have seen them live several times but I think Steven Tyler's kind of a perv.
  • Mike from Port Orange, FlIf Joan Jett's original idea for this song was "I hate myself 'cause I can't get laid" as mentioned above, I think she should have run with it, regardless of what her producer said. I think it would have been a huge hit, since a great many people can identify with that concept. I know I certainly could identify with it back in my high school and college days. I myself would have liked to hear the song that might have developed from Joan's original idea.
  • Jim from Long Beach, CaJoan Jett is f--king hot, If she ever wants to "trade teams". I'm down for it..Great song..
  • Thomas from Somerville, AlJoan Jett is he hotest chick that ever picked up a guitar!
  • Tony from Minneapolis, MnI just hope Joan is getting royalties
  • Grizzly from Panohai, PaAside from the fact that I want to do delightful things to Joan Jett that would make her have wet dreams about me for the rest of her natural life, I've got to hand it to her -- this song is tremendous. Between this one, "I Love Rock and Roll," and "Do You Wanna Touch" that's a perfect trifecta.
  • Jeff from Austin, TxThis song is in the movie Rounders. It's playing at the strip club.
  • Joshua from Twin Cities, MnNBC and Pink have managed to do with this song what I once thought was impossible: to make it even more annoying than the Monday Night Football adaptation of "All My Rowdy Friends". At least ABC (and now ESPN) used that song's original artist for the adaptation. In 17 years of MNF, Hank Williams Jr. has yet to mangle his song as badly as Pink mangled Joan Jett's song on the first night of SNF!
  • Ashlee from Vermilion, CanadaJoan is such a inspiring Artist! Shes so great and she still is going hard today which is very Awesome 5 Stars for Joan.
