  • Too many times I didn't try to hold you
I never kept the promises I told you
Now it's time I give in, I know
To the words that I should have said long ago

    [Chorus]
    Lady lay down beside me
Wrap all your love around me
    I need you to stay
Don't turn away from me now
    Lady lay down

You've been alone, I guess I've known about it
You gave me love & learned to live without it
Now that you've turned to go
Let me beg you to stay the best way I know

    [Chorus: x2]
Lady lay down Writer/s: DON COOK, RAFE VAN HOY

  • Jim Hadaway from Opelika, AlHave Tickets for Show in Oxford May 5 or 15. Looking so forward to the Show. I’m 80 in July and can’t listen to John enough. Do You think God allows Country Music in Heaven with Bill Anderson being my favorite. I’m Handicapped and Hope I get To Meat Him.
  • Brad from Barry, TxI've never heard a bad John Conlee song, and "Lady Lay Down" is no exception. Although, "Rose Colored Glasses" is probably my favorite Conlee track, each one was great. A great voice and some really wonderful songs.
