  • Outside
    Gets inside
    Through her skin
    I've been out before
But this time it's much safer in

    Last night in the sky
    Such a bright light
    My radar send me danger
But my instincts tell me to keep

    Breathing
(Out, in, out, in, out, in)
    Breathing
    Breathing my mother in
    Breathing my beloved in
    Breathing
    Breathing her nicotine
    Breathing
    Breathing the fall-out in
Out in, out in, out in, out in

    We've lost our chance
We're the first and the last, ooh
    After the blast
    Chips of plutonium
    Are twinkling in every lung

    I love my
    Beloved, ooh
    All and everywhere
    Only the fools blew it
    You and me
    Knew life itself is

    Breathing
(Out, in, out, in, out, in)
    Breathing
    Breathing my mother in
    Breathing my beloved in
    Breathing
    Breathing her nicotine
    Breathing
    Breathing the fall-out in
Out in, out in, out in, out in
Out in, out in, out in, out
    (Out, out, out)

(What are we going to do without)
    Ooh please!
(What are we going to do without)
    Let me breathe!
(What are we going to do without)
    Ooh, breath in
(We are all going to die without)
    Leave me something to breathe!
(What are we going to do without)
Oh, leave me something to breathe!
(We are all going to die without)
Oh, God, please leave us something to breathe!
(What are we going to do without)

  • Em from Grate BritenI see this song from living with an abusive narcissistic mother and husband. Breathing the fall out in. God please give me something to breathe
  • Kel from NederlandA bit scary when you consider that 6 years later a nuclear holocaust happened (Tsjernobyl)
  • Malcolm from Plymouth, Englandnice sampple by pink floyd a good song that reflects the decade it was first released
  • Merin from Brisbane, AustraliaRegarding this song, I agree with Lee and Geri. This song is extremely special - spiritually. Listen to it through headphones, while you're feeling peaceful. Listen to the harmonies.
  • Lee from Ottawa, CanadaA bit of a scary song when you really consider it's subject matter. The way that Kate handles very socially relevant topics like this one leaves the listener feeling her absolute seriousness and I think very few artists can make you feel a song so deeply.Best listened to with headphones so you can really hear a lot of the subtle background stuff, especially the sequence near the middle of the song with the commentary about nuclear explosions which sounds kind of like the soundtrack from a documentary film one might have seen in the classroom as a child.
  • Geri from Nova Scotia, CanadaAnother masterpiece by the great Kate Bush
