  • Lady, I'm your knight in shining armor and I love you
You have made me what I am and I am yours
My love, there's so many ways I want to say "I love you"
Let me hold you in my arms forevermore

You have gone and made me such a fool
I'm so lost in your love
    And, oh, we belong together
Won't you believe in my song?

Lady, for so many years I thought I'd never find you
You have come into my life and made me whole
Forever, let me wake to see you each and every morning
Let me hear you whisper softly in my ear

In my eyes, I see no one else but you
There's no other love like our love
And yes, oh, yes, I'll always want you near me
I've waited for you for so long

Lady, your love's the only love I need
And beside me is where I want you to be
'Cause, my love, there's somethin' I want you to know
You're the love of my life
    You're my lady Writer/s: Lionel B. Richie

  • Osamah Barabaa from The NetherlandsWhenever I see this video of them singing togther, it just makes me smile ^_^ .. I don't know why exactly.. they're just awesome...
  • Mister_mojo_risin from Atlanta UsaThis song is a true classic. Gives me chills every time I hear this one. Love the imagery... the songwriter lays it all on the line for this girl -- will she accept?

and of course..props to Mr. Lionel Richie, Jr!
  • Terrence G. from Cape TownComposed by the talented Lionel Richie. Lovely fusion the day country music met r&b. Quick fact: Kenny sang all his lines dressed in his tennis attire as he had returned to the studio from a refreshing match on the court.
  • Jennifur Sun from RamonaShawn, mine is Don't Fall In Love With A Dreamer, but like this one too.
  • Barry from Sauquoit, NyOn September 28th 1980, "Lady" by Kenny Rogers entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #39; and six weeks later on November 9th, 1980 it peaked at #1 {for 6 weeks} and spent almost a half-year on the Top 100 {25 weeks}...
    It also reached #1 {for 1 week} on November 16th, 1980 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart...
And on the day it peaked at #1 on the Top 100 it also reached #1 {for 4 weeks} on Billboard's Adult Contemporary Tracks chart...
Mr. Rogers celebrated his 76th birthday one month ago on August 21st {2014}.
  • Dt from Gulf Breeze, FlCertain songs make me think of certain women. Years ago dated a gal who loved Kenny Rogers and this was her favorite. Used to go to a bar where the band covered this. I'm not that crazy about KR or this song, but it was good to slow dance to.
  • Barry from Sauquoit, NyI have a question for other fans of Kenny Rogers; has anyone heard of a song called "Good Lady of Toronto" by Kenny. I reason I ask is that when Billboard had it's Year-End chart for the Top 100 Songs of 1981 this song was ranked as the No. 3 Song for 1981. • Shawn from Green Bay, WiArguably, Kenny's greatest song, though I put "She Believes in Me" right with it. Beautiful, straightforward, and very moving song. One of the greatest first lines in any song- "Lady, I'm your knight in shining armor and I love you." Pretty tough to start a love song out better than that.
  • Stafler from Durban, South Africathis song touches my heart deeply
  • Sara from Beirut, Lebanongreat soooooooooong, great singer!!!!
