  • Stop stalling, make a name for yourself
Boy, you better put that pen to paper, charm your way out
If you talk, you better walk
You better back your shit up
    With more than good hooks
While you're all under the gun
    Start talking a sensationalist
Oh, he's slightly clever to just a certain extent
If you talk, you better walk
You better keep your mouth shut
    With more than good hooks
While you're all under the gun

    Panic, meet the press
It's time for us to take a chance
It's time for us to take a chance
    Panic, meet the press
It's time for us to take a chance
    It's time for us

Well, we're just a wet dream for the web scene
Make us it, make us hip, make us scene
Or shrug us off your shoulders
Don't approve a single word we wrote

Well, we're just a wet dream for the webzine
Make us it, make us hip, make us scene
Or shrug us off your shoulders
Don't approve a single word that we wrote

I'm burning and I'm blacking my lungs
Boy, you know it feels good with fire back on your tongue
If you talk, you better walk
You better back your shit up
    With more than good hooks
While you're all under the gun
    Start talking a sensationalist
Oh, he's slightly clever to just a certain extent
Oh, keep quiet let us sing like the doves
Then decide if it's done with purpose or lack thereof

    Just for the record
The weather today is slightly sarcastic with a good chance of
A indifference, or B disinterest in what the critics say

It's time for us to take a chance
    It's time for us

Well, we're just a wet dream for the webzines
Make us it, make us hip, make us scene
Or shrug us off your shoulders
Don't approve a single word we wrote

  • Ryan Ross WoahI need Panic! In my veins
  • Ahwa from Glasgow, United KingdomNowadays, everything is based on image so hardly anybody cares about the meanings of songs anymore and music as a whole is losing its original purpose.

"Well we're just a wet dream from a webzine. Make us hip, make us it, make us scene"
~ They won't be regarded as 'popular' if they don't have the right image or style, but Panic! don't care because it also says "it's time for us to take a chance" so it's time for them to be different no matter what the critics say.
  • Justin from Covina, Ca@John: Because it's AWESOME. :P
  • Maddie from Albuquerque, Nmwow i totally love this song it iso beyond amazing
  • Ali from Wine, Cawell...wet dreams dont really mean anything about looks.
  • Katy from Austin, TxChorus:

    "Panic! meet the press!
It's time for us to take a chance
It's time for us to take a chance

    Panic! meet the press!
It's time for us to take a chance
    It's time for us!

Or shrug us off your shoulders

[I think it's saying something about their publicity. 'Panic! meet the press' is like saying interviews, concert talkshows etc etc. 'It's time for us to take a chance' meets they should just go and "take a chance". "Wet dream through the webzine" I think they're saying something like about their looks in the media or something. "Make us it, make us hip, make us scene" i think it means asking the media to spread their popularity. And I think the rest is saying if you don't like us then just leave us alone or something like that...well kind of confusing but i can't explain things well so yeah...]
  • Sammy from Leicester, Englandi really love the crazy frog its the best!
  • John from Mountain Lakes, Njwhat's up with all of P!@TD's extremely long song names?
  • Raquel from Harlem, NyI agree with Chris, I've noticed that P!@TD quotes Chuck Palaniuk religiously in their songs.
("Time To Dance" is practically based on the first chapter of his book, Invisible Monsters. Also, "The Only Difference Between Suicide and Martyrdom Is Press Coverage" is a quote from Palaniuk's book, Survivor.) They're hella good books, and hella good songs.
  • K from Las Vegas, NvLooks like London got the songs written by machines part they wanted...

    so mechanical and robotic...
  • Tyna from La Crescenta, CaThe lyrics "stop stalling, make a name for yourself, boy you better put that pen to paper, charm your way out. If you talk you better walk, you better back your **** up with more than good hooks while you're all under the gun"
Are actually directed towards Brandon Flowers of The Killers, who has an ongoing dislike...thing... with Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy, and if it wasn't for Pete, we'd probably not know of Panic! at the Disco right now. Connection forming in your mind?
  • Vicky from Cincinnati, OhJust to remind the critics who gave them bad reviews that they don't give a sh*t . . .
  • Melissa from Toledo, OhI love this song. Panic! is amaizing and has really great and fun songs.
