Northern Downpour

  • If all our life is but a dream
    Fantastic posing greed
Then we should feed our jewelery to the sea
For diamonds do appear to be
Just like broken glass to me

And then she said she can't believe
    Genius only comes along
In storms of fabled foreign tongues
    Tripping eyes, and flooded lungs
    Northern downpour sends its love

Hey moon, please forget to fall down
Hey moon, don't you go down

    Sugarcane in the easy mornin'
    Weather-vanes my one and lonely

The ink is running toward the page
    It's chasin' off the days
    Look back at both feet
    And that winding knee
I missed your skin when you were east
You clicked your heels and wished for me

Through playful lips made of yarn
    That fragile Capricorn
Unraveled words like moths upon old scarves
    I know the world's a broken bone
But melt your headaches, call it home

Hey moon, please forget to fall down
Hey moon, don't you go down

    Sugarcane in the easy mornin'
    Weather-vanes my one and lonely

    Sugarcane in the easy mornin'
    Weather-vanes my one and lonely

    Sugarcane in the easy mornin'
    Weather-vanes my one and lonely

    Sugarcane in the easy mornin'
    Weather-vanes my one and lonely

    Sugarcane in the easy mornin'
    Weather-vanes my one and lonely

    Sugarcane in the easy mornin'
    Weather-vanes my one and lonely
    Sugarcane in the easy mornin'
    Weather-vanes my one and lonely

Hey moon, please forget to fall down
Hey moon, don't you go down
You are at the top of my lungs

  • Roisin from Somerset, England*"Behind The Sea"
I'm not even sure what happened there :/
  • Roisin from Somerset, EnglandThe second voice that come in on this track is Ryan Ross; it starts out as unison, then Brendon switches to the higher harmony while Ryan takes the low notes. He also sings on "Mad As Rabbits" and takes lead on the track "Behind Us" - both of which are awesome. This song is one of my favourites by Panic fullstop, and definitely my favourite on Pretty. Odd.
  • Aj from Trenton, Nj"northern downpour sends it's love" love that line
  • Martha from New York, NyLove this song. It's the only song that can put me to sleap at night
  • Carrie from Timaru, New ZealandThe other voice at 2:30 is Ryan Ross.
  • Matt from Michigan City, InQuick question, at about 2:30 into the song there seems to be a change in the voice of the singer which I'm assuming is a guest vocal...To me this sounds nearly identical to Anthony Raneri of Bayside, any ideas if this is the case???
  • Celine from K. Belait, Brunei DarussalamI love this song and the video clip. Totally awesome!!
  • Brittany from Townsville, AustraliaI love this song so much that I'm learnin how to play it on guitar. Its an awsome song, its so awsome that i had this song stuck in my mind for like 1 to 2 week(s)!!!
  • Z from Somewhere Over The Rainbow, WaIt's a great song. It is a very cute little love song with a sort-of 'Wizard of Oz' reference (You clicked your heels and wished for me).
  • Alex from Pompton Plains, Njthis is my favorite song on pretty. odd., along with mad as rabbits. but this one is so different from their past work, and it just shows what a great band they are to make this transition.
