  • Well I can't stand to look at you now
This revelation's out of my hands
Still I can't bear the thought of you now
    This complication's leaving me scared

Stay when you think you want me
    Pray when you need advice
Hey keep your sickness off me tryin to get through
Blame all your weakness on me
    Shame that I'm so contrite
Hey keep your fingers off me, why can't I get through?

You think you have the best of intentions
I cannot shake the taste of blood in my mouth

(Hey) I keep on thinking that it's
(Hey) all done and all over now (whoa)
You keep on thinking you can save me, save me
(Hey) My ship is sinking but it's
(Hey) All good and I can go down (whoa)
You've got me thinking that the party's all over

Well I can't stand to be with myself
    This liberation's seemingly rare
And I can't stand the taste of your mouth
This sublimation's out of my hands

You stay 'cause you think you want me
    Pray when you need advice
Hey keep your sickness off me I'm tryin' to get through
Shame you could take this from me
    Bane on an empty mind
Hey keep your fingers off me, why can't I get through?

(Hey) I keep on thinking that it's
(Hey) all done and all over now (whoa)
You keep on thinking you can save me, save me
(Hey) My ship is sinking but it's
(Hey) All good and I can go down (whoa)
You've got me thinking that the party's all over

    Lay down
    Just stay down
Lay down because I'm trying to get through

Say what you want but you're not gonna win this time
Take what you want, but just leave me alive
Say what you want but you're not gonna win this time
Take what you want, but just leave me alive

(Hey) I keep on thinking that it's
(Hey) all done and all over now (whoa)
You keep on thinking you can save me, save me
(Hey) My ship is sinking but it's
(Hey) All good and I can go down (whoa)
Still you believe that we can start it all over

    Lay down
    Just stay down
Lay down because the party's all over

    Lay down
    Just stay down
Lay down because I'm trying to get through Writer/s: Dale Stewart, John Humphrey, Shaun Welgemoed, Troy William Mclawhorn

  • June from East Gwillimbury, OntarioK I have to ask...is the guy dressed up as bride in country song video Dave Grohl by any chance...I swear it is and husband thinks I'm nuts.
  • Dynama from Cincinnati, Ohi like this song a lot. very complicated musically. what do they call the way the lead singer sounds on the verse? it sounds like we're hearing him on the phone. lots of rock songs use this device. i think Three Days Grace also uses it on one of their songs.
  • Gladys from Chicago, IlOh, yes, by all means, let's make sure everyone stays in their little box. Music has just progressed SO VERY FAR since the olden days when you could actually hear a rock band, a pop song, and--heavens, no!--a SOUL song...ALL on the SAME station!!! It's absolutely CRITICAL that we don't allow one genre to influence another...that would just lead to ANARCHY!

It's that "pick a genre" thinking that's driven rock to the point it's at now--reductive, repetitive, boring as hellIn the early to mid 90's, bands experimented with different sounds and they were applauded for it....the bands that didn't fit in, the kids who couldn't instantly find a box to crawl into, were FINALLY taken seriously...for a minute. Then the jock-ocracy reasserted itself and started crushing the experimenters, and here we find ourselves today. When pop music is the most experimental category out there, the world is clearly upside-down.

As for Seether: "Country Song" is not my favorite, partly because of the title; but I'd rather listen to my least-favorite Seether song than anything Coldplay ever released.
  • Rebecca from Sanford, NcI thought it was kinda stupid because it was on the country channel and the rock station. Pick a genre!! :(
