  • It’s 8 AM, this hell I’m in
Seems I’ve crossed a line again
For being nothing more than who I am
So break my bones and throw your stones
We all know that life ain’t fair
But there’s more of us we’re everywhere

We don’t have to take this back against the wall
We don’t have to take this we can end it all

All you’ll ever be is a fading memory of a bully
Make another joke while they hang another rope so lonely
Push them to the dirt till the words don’t hurt can you hear me
No one’s gonna cry on the very day you die you’re a bully

Think it through you can’t undo
Whenever I see black and blue I feel the past, I share the bruise
With everyone who’s come and gone
My head is clear my voice is strong, now I’m right here to right the wrong

We don’t have to take this back against the wall
We don’t have to take this we can end it all

All you’ll ever be is a fading memory of a bully
Make another joke while they hang another rope so lonely
Push them to the dirt till the words don’t hurt can you hear me
No one’s gonna cry on the very day you die you’re a bully

    It’s 8 AM, the hell I’m in
Your voice is strong, now right the wrong

All you’ll ever be is a fading memory of a bully
Make another joke while they hang another rope so lonely
Push them to the dirt till the words don’t hurt can you hear me
No one’s gonna cry on the very day you die you’re a bully

All you’ll ever be is a fading memory of a bully
Make another joke while they hang another rope so lonely
Push them to the dirt till the words don’t hurt can you hear me
No one’s gonna cry on the very day you die you’re a bully

We don’t have to take this back against the wall
We don’t have to take this we can end it all Writer/s: BRENT SMITH, DAVE BASSETT, ZACHARY MYERS

  • Michelle from ArkansasI caught the show in Fayetteville great show but as the mom of a us soldier the graphics behind the song bully really took me by surprise I felt it was saying our guys out there were bullies please explain
  • Logan from Sk Canada I got the living s--t bullied out of me at school. I didn't have a single f--kin friend in the hole dam school. Sometimes I felt like just giving up. I asked myself what the hell am I still doing here? Why don't I just end it all? This song was huge inspiration for me that I had lots to live for so the next day I decided I was done with being pushed around. The meanest kid in the class pushed me into a locker so I kicked the s--t outa him. I gained the respect of everyone else. Thank you shinedown, for your inspirational lyrics
  • Zero from The Abyss, NjI've heard about a kid a long time ago that literally hanged himself because he didn't want to deal with being bullied. Very sad. The line "Make another joke while they hang another rope" reminded me of that. Another powerful line. Kids would rather die than to deal with being bullied and live with themselves because it also takes a toll on their self-esteem. I have undying respect for this band and though I'm not a fan of Lady Gaga's music too much, I respect what she and this band are doing (Gaga was bullied in school too).
  • Zero from Nowhere, NjI can relate to this song as I was bullied in school. Favorite line: "No one's gonna cry on the very day you die, you're a bully."
  • Jennie from Ansonia, CtThis is such an awesome song! I heard the band is teaming up with Lady Gaga in her campaign to end bullying.
