  • I dream about how it's going to end
    Approaching me quickly
    Leaving a life of fear
I only want my mind to be clear
    People making fun of me
    For no reason but jealousy
    I fantasize about my death
I'll kill myself from holding my breath
    My suicidal dream
Voices telling me what to do
    My suicidal dream
I'm sure you will get yours too

    Help me comfort me
Stop me from feeling what I'm feeling now,
    The rope is here,
    Now I'll find a use,
    I'll kill myself,
I'll put my head in a noose

    My suicidal dream,
Voices telling me what to do,
    My suicidal dream,
I'm sure you will get yours too,

    Dreamin' about my death, dream,
    Suicidal, suicidal, suicidal dream,
    I'm suicidal,

  • Grant from AzIt could be that this was the only way to express himself without people fully knowing. Also many people who are suicidal tend to dream about it (although we know holding your breath won't do it) and in a dream they find their escape.
  • Zero from The Abyss, NjActually, you can't kill yourself from holding your breath. You'll pass out, at which point you'll start breathing again. Although, I'm pretty sure you can damage your brain to an extent from depriving it from oxygen for an extended period of time.
  • Jason from East New Market, MdI believe Johns said that these songs (Frogstomp), when writing the lyrics he was watching alot of television and that's the main inspiration for the lyrics with the exception of a few songs.
  • Susie from Victoria, AustraliaThe most disturbing thing about this song is the way it's performed. It's like, he sings 'I'll kill myself from holding my breath', so calmly, as if it were about anything at all.
  • Joel from Columbia, ScDoes anybody else think it's a little disturbing that so many bands are putting out "suicide songs?" I mean, maybe it's just me...
  • Dev01d from Wollongong, AustraliaSilverchair were my favourite band for most of my life so far and are still right up there. This song got me through some pretty rough times in my life. And they're Australian which just makes them even better.
  • Ashley from Moncton, CanadaThis is my favourite silverchair song next to Pure Massacre
