  • Tuning in the latest star
From the dashboard of my car
    Cruisin' at seven
    Push button heaven
    Capturing memories from afar
    In my car

That's why God made the radio (that's why God made)
So tune right in, everywhere you go
He waved His hand, gave us rock 'n' roll
The soundtrack of falling in love
    Falling in love, falling in
That's why God made the radio

Feel the music in the air
Find a song to take us there
It's paradise when I lift up my antenna
Receiving your signal like a prayer
    Like a prayer

That's why God made the radio (that's why God made)
So tune right in, everywhere you go
He waved His hand, gave us rock 'n' roll
The soundtrack of falling in love
    Falling in love, falling in
That's why God made the radio

Making this night a celebration (celebration)
    Spreading the love and sunshine
    To a whole new generation
    Whole new generation

    That's why God made
    That's why God made
That's why God made the radio
That's why God made (the radio)
    That's why God made
That's why God made the radio (for fallin' in love)
That's why God made (the radio)
That's why God made (God made)
That's why God made the radio (for nights like this)
That's why God made (God made)
That's why God made (God made)
That's why God made the radio (for fallin' in love) Writer/s: Brian Douglas Wilson, James M Peterik, Joseph Thomas, Laurence John Millas

  • Gigi from Fresno, CaliforniaI love this entire album...and this song is my heart
  • Sabrina from Corvallis, OrI love this song! The lyrics, the melody, everything. A wonderful tribute to the days when AM radio was king, and not the cesspool it's become with all the political talk programs, screamers and vulgar shock jocks! I thank God that I came of age when listening to radio was truly a simple pleasure. I've been a fan since age 5 (1966), and f anyone should ask me why am I still listening to the Beach Boys despite being over 50, I will point to two songs "Wouldn't It Be Nice" and "That's Why God Made The Radio." This song is PRECISELY why the Beach Boys for 46 years have been a major part of the 'soundtrack of my life' and will continue to be so until I die. Heck, I want the Beach Boys played at my funeral. Just kidding..maybe ...
