    Good day sunshine
    Good day sunshine

I need to laugh, and when the sun is out
I've got something I can laugh about
I feel good, in a special way
I'm in love and it's a sunny day

    Good day sunshine
    Good day sunshine
    Good day sunshine

We take a walk, the sun is shining down
Burns my feet as they touch the ground

    Good day sunshine
    Good day sunshine
    Good day sunshine

And then we lie, beneath a shady tree
I love her and she's loving me
She feels good, she knows she's looking fine
I'm so proud to know that she is mine

    Good day sunshine
    Good day sunshine

  • Christian from Berlin, GermanyThe opening verse of "I'm Only Sleeping" was a direct take from John Sebastian's "Daydream".
  • Julia from Hartford, CtAt the end of the song when Paul says "She feels good" You can hear a voice in the background(probably John) saying something like "She doesnt feel good"
  • Jake Smith from Elmhurst, Ilone of my favorites listen to every morning as i wake up sun shining bright or not
  • Barry from Sauquoit, NyIn 1967 Claudine Longet, who was married to Andy Williams at the time, released a covered version of this song, her version peaked at No. 100 and stayed for two weeks in the Top 100!!!
  • Nick from Muskegon, MiI always hear this in the morning and it perks me right up
  • Adrian from Gettysburg, PaI feel I must also set the record straight. This song is NOT about LSD. It's clearly documented in multiple books and the Beatles Anthology series that Paul was hesitant to sample the drug with the rest of his bandmates and didn't use it for the first time until March 1967, nearly a year after this song was composed. I know it's nice to pretend that every song the Beatles wrote from the mid 60s on was about drugs, but that is not the case. The only songs on "Revolver" about drugs were "She Said She Said," "Dr. Robert" and "Got to Get You Into My Life." Do your homework, kids.
  • George from Belleville, NjThis is the ultimate sunshine song.A pop materpiece. The fade out at the end is a thing of beauty. The Beatles were constantly growing and developing as artists.
  • Philippe from Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaThis classic, if i'm not wrong was covered by another Liverpool band' The Tremeloes!
  • Chloe from St. Louis, Moid never heard this song until now, and now im smiling for no reason. it makes you feel all sunny inside.
    :-)
  • Roy from Granbania, MaThis song has an incredibly happy sound. Like someone already said, it's hard not to like it. Also, I wish that all the Beatles's albums had the same track listings in the US and UK, because I like getting Beatles vinyls and some of my favorite tracks are always missing (like "And Your Bird Can Sing"), resulting in me needing to get more albums (like "Yesterday...and Today"). This experience is just not the same when some songs are left off. Thank God this stopped after Revolver (Sgt. Pepper's is my favorite album)!
  • Jeremy from Minneapolis, MnPeople are reading way too much into the drug culture of the 60's. Unless you can prove that Paul wrote it about LSD why even mention it? I don't recall a single interview where this was stated. Enjoy the song post facts if you have them but speculation makes this site another wikipedia.
  • Shane from Des Moines, IaI'm finding it so funny, that so many people don't realize, as some posters have said, that this song is about acid - liquid sunshine - just like most of the rest of Revolver - about drugs....
  • Peter Griffin from Quahog, RiThis song has been played as the "good morning" song on the Space Shuttle on at least 2 different missions. "Here Comes The Sun" has also been used on at least one mission.
  • Max from Vancouver, Canadasean is absolutely right...any song by the beatles cant be awful, but the other ones on revolver are so much better...if they left this off and included "rain" instead, the album becomes that much more of a gem.
  • Bianca Sanchez from Alburquerque, NmI like this guy that looks like Ringo so every day I sing this cos of the part that says, "Im in love and it's a sunny day." cos' it's true!
  • Michael from Ponce, Puerto Rico, Other"Good Day Sunshine" was #3 in the Singapore charts...
  • Shane from Des Moines, IaYes, I do think people are overlooking some of the hidden meanings to this song, as one contributor pointed out. It's either about LSD (which has been referred to as liquid sunshine) or pot. He's not really talking about a woman when he says, "she feels good..." etc...
  • Ruby from Cc, TxAfter Paul sings "she feels good" Ringo says "she f***ing does."
  • Krissy from Boston, MaI lovw this song!
  • Sean from Trenton, Njyeah, i didn't mean that it was awful. it's an alright song, i just believe that it really didn't belong on revolver compared to the other great tracks on that album.
  • Cj from CtI love this song! I taught it to some of my friends, but all they can remember are the "Goodday, sunshine! bum, bum, bum. Goodday, sunshine! bum, bum, bum. Goodday, sunshine!" parts. Seriously the best song ever . . .
  • Michelle from Minesota, Mn i think that good day sunshine reminds me of a nice hot summer's day
  • Eric from ValenciaOne of Leonard Bernstein's favourite Beatles songs, according to Ian Macdonald, because of its blithe musical unconventionality.
  • Robert from Thetford, United StatesPaul and Ringo are the only Members of the Beatles to play instruments on this track. John and George provide backing vocals.
  • Maggie from London, EnglandI think this is a wonderful song. It's a perfect summer song which is great to listen to if you're out in the sunshine. I love it!
  • Clarke from Pittsburgh, PaMore proof that the Beatles, not Michael Jackson, were the Kings of Pop (no offense intended to MJ fans). Like "Penny Lane", it's hard not to like this song, and hard to stay in a bad mood if you happen to be in one when you hear it.
  • Zoloft from Milton, WvPaul wrote this song as a heartfelt tribute to his favorite drug at the time, LSD, which was also called "liquid sunshine". The liquid sunshine Paul took made him laugh and feel good in a special way. It was often overcast in England, but with the aid of his beloved LSD, every day was a sunny day.
  • Nick from Boston , MaI listen to this song on every sunny day. It really keeps me motivated during the day.
  • Andrea from San Fransisco, CaIt is my fave song ever, and whats with john mumbling at the end? It reminds me of the book So Long and Thanks for all the Fish by Douglas Adams. Why,though,I really cant say.
  • Greg from New York City, NySean, are you on drugs? Good Day Sunshine is one of the most uplifting songs The Beatles ever released. It is a great song. You should think about just killing yourself Sean.
  • John from Boston, MaSeriously, in no way is this a weak song. It's damn good. Certainly not as good as many of the others on Revolver, but a damn good song!

Cut the negativity, people! Revolver is such a good album, even its (arguably) lesser tracks are kickass. :)
  • Jojo from Meridian, CaAfter Paul says "she feels good", you can hear john in the backround mimic the same thing.
  • Linus from Hamilton, On, CanadaGreat vibe to this song, more mature Beatles song
  • Michelle from Antigonish, CanadaReally, I Love Space and the Beatles...wow..this is now going to spread through my friends like a wild fire...I'm crazy over them!!!
  • Sarah from Pittsburgh, PaJust a fun little tidbit, Paul sang this to the astronauts in space to wake them up one morning. But that's all I can tell you, really. Don't know the date or anything. >.< sorry!
  • Nelle from Lima, PeruI agree with Sean. I don't necessarily think it's a crappy song, but it's the definitely the weakest on Revolver. Uplifting, though. I think somehoiw it's connected with Got to get you into my Life (which by the way it's about pot).
  • Ken from Louisville, KyJohn Lennon said that this was one of his favorite Paul McCartney songs.
  • George from Itaberaba, BrazilSean, are you crazy? This is a beautiful happy song. If this song is the worst of Revolver, it's explained why REV is the best Beatles' album
  • Carissa from La Mirada, CaSean from Trenton, what are you smoking? This song is one of the best songs in existence!
  • Liz from Boston, Msone of the best songs ever, it is the BEST on their CD
  • Sean from Trenton, Nji think its the worst song on revolver. their other songs on revolver are absolutely genius, i dont know why they put this on the album
  • Dustin from Akron, OhFor a good laugh listen to Eddie Murphy's cover of this song.
  • Benjamin from Cheverly, MdGreat song, there you go, my opinion.
  • Maddie from Knoxville, TnWonderful Paul song! But has anyone else heard that weird mumbling towards the end of the song? Its right after Paul sings "She feels good, she knows she's looking fine". It sound like John.....
  • Elliott from Douglassville, PaSpeaking of Sir George's piano solos, his piano solo on "In My Life" was recorded in the opposite way - he recorded it at a slower speed so it would play back faster - the trills would sound faster.
  • Adrian from Wilmington, DeI always think of this song whenever there's a beautiful spring day outside. Thanks Paul! ;-)
  • Shelli from Madison, WiThis song was used in a potato chip commercial in the early 90's.
