  • So lately, been wondering
Who will be there to take my place
When I'm gone, you'll need love
To light the shadows on your face

If a great wave shall fall
    And fall upon us all
Then between the sand and stone
Could you make it on your own?

If I could, then I would
I'll go wherever you will go
Way up high or down low
I'll go wherever you will go

    And maybe, I'll find out
A way to make it back someday
To watch you, to guide you
Through the darkest of your days

If a great wave shall fall
    And fall upon us all
Well then I hope there's someone out there
Who can bring me back to you

If I could, then I would
I'll go wherever you will go
Way up high or down low
I'll go wherever you will go

    Run away with my heart
    Run away with my hope
    Run away with my love

I know now, just quite how
My life and love might still go on
In your heart, in your mind
I'll stay with you for all of time

If I could, then I would
I'll go wherever you will go
Way up high or down low
I'll go wherever you will go

If I could turn back time
I'll go wherever you will go
If I could make you mine
I'll go wherever you will go
I'll go wherever you will go Writer/s: Aaron Kamin, Alex Band

  • Kerry & Sianay My Daughter, Wingman from Worthing West SussexMY 17yr OLD DAUGHTER'S FUNERAL,I had this played, I found her lifeless in her room, she had a seizure and never came out of it but it happened during the night so she wasn't discovered until the morning, She was a beautiful and talented young lady, but above all she was my best friend and my wingman, we did everything together, we even had secrets we shared, she kept mine I kept hers, even about things that could be life changing if they ever came to light, but I always said this song is perfect for her, we used to love singing in the car, this was our favorite and I always vowed I'd always be there with her when I passed, I never in a lifetime thought she could ever be gone before me but I know she is with me always you never part, I feel her with me always, I love you Siânay ill be with you as soon as I can xxx
  • Dean from MarylandI know what song I'm playing at my funeral
  • Sunshine from Michigan My husband of almost 47 years passed away and when I heard this song, it sounded like what my husband would say to me.
  • Kevin Cool from Akron ,ogioHello there, if Lorin Russell reads this comment that I am making I want to say that to me this is the best power ballad song ever written and sung. I am a professional singer and I play guitar and I do some occasional songwriting and I was determined to learn how to capture Alex bands vocals because I have a very deep voice myself it took me a couple of years I'm singing this song over and over and over again but I finally nailed it last summer in 2019 and I just love to sing it so I can appreciate your comments Lorin let me know if you read this comment
  • Lorin Russell from Los AngelesThis is a beautiful and haunting song. Alex has a much better voice than Stapp and this is" his" voice. He isnt copying Stapp and his voice is what it is. Much better writing than Creed too. Stapp's voice almost sounds unnatural. Much better quality. I love his deep voice. That someone could write such a sensitive song and put it to the best music blows my mind. I will forever be a fan!
  • Nancy from Apache Junction, AzActually the lead singer of The Calling, Alex Band wrote Wherever You Will Go when he was 15 years old. Go to www.alexmaxband.com for information
  • Uzoma from Kano, OtherAwesome song!
  • Andrew from Sydney, AustraliaI love this song
  • Kayla from Newport, TnI adore this song. To me it sounds like this guy has died or is dying and wishes he could find a way to be back with the one he love whether as a spirit or being reincarnated
  • Chelsie from Tonawanda, NyNo..hollie..neither you or Liz are right.

    taken from alexmaxband.com,
Aaron - From Kiss 92 Interview - It was about 3 and a half years ago we did it. It's about, at the time my grandmother's best friend had passed away and she left behind a husband of 50 or more years and I was at the funeral and afterwards I just started thinking of what it would be like to be him and have your whole life change so dramatically and not for the best in a matter of moments, you know. Somebody that you live and grow with and are one with, just to be gone, is crazy and I figured all he ever thinks about probably is finding a way to get back to her or be with her or make sure she's alright or something like that. That was the sentiment behind that.

the Calling only consists of two people. Aaron Kamin and Alex band. Everyone else is just part of the band they hired. That's why they got in a law suit.
  • Mitchell from Adelaide, Australia You know this could be considered a stalker song. Sorry I just love saying that, ruins people's fun!
  • Dan from Bensalem, PaI was in the hospital when this song first became popular and I was not expected to make it home. This song sounded like I had written it for my wife. I told here this was the song I wanted played at my funeral. To this day when I hear it it takes me back to those times and I still get teary eyes thinking of her being alone. Great song. And as I guess you can tell I survived!!!
  • Devin from Guy, Arit does sound a lot like scott stapp, but i still like the song
  • Joel from Columbia, ScThought it sounded a little to much like Scott Stapp from Creed. Not knocking it though.
  • Charlette from Budapest, HungaryThis song is very good. I love the singers' voice.
  • Paul from Jersey City, NjWhen I hear this song I think about my Uncle.
He died 9/11/2001, and I saw the devastation it
cause through my entire family, especially his wife and their 5 kids. I also think of my kids,
as to when it becomes my turn to leave here.
  • Hollie from Stockton, CaThe first comment about the sang is not correct. The song was written after the drummer's wife died. Also, the guitarist in The Calling is the brother of the guitarist in Lifehouse.
  • Audrey from La, CaWas also played to promote the movie "Katie & Leopold" in TV commercials. The band also performed this Teen Choice Music Mania 2002. This song is major kick ass! I love this song so much and I never get tired of hearing it! Alex and Aaron you guys rock! Keep bringing great music!:-)
  • Daisy from Ikast, DenmarkJohnny Knoxville also appears in the movie "Coyote Ugly". Though he's only in it for like 5 seconds or so.
  • Rodrigo from Guatemala, OtherThe Calling appears performing this song live in the movie "Coyote Ugly", even though they didn't appear in the soundtrack at all.
