  • She's your adolescent dream,
Schoolboy stuff, a sticky sweet romance.
And she makes you want to scream,
Wishing you could get inside her pants.
    So, you fantasize away.
And while you're squeezing her, you thought you heard her saying...

    "Good girls don't,
    Good girls don't,
Good girls don't, but I do."

So, you call her on the phone
To talk about the teachers that you hate.
And she says she's all alone,
And her parents won't be coming home til late.
There's a ringing in your brain,
Cause you could've sworn you though you heard her saying...

    "Good girls don't,
    Good girls don't,
Good girls don't, but I do."

    And it's a teenage sadness
    Everyone has got to taste.
    An in-between age madness
That you know you can't erase
Til she's sitting on your face.

You're alone with her at last,
And you're waiting til you think the time is right.
Cause you've heard she's pretty fast.
And you're hoping that she'll give you some tonight.
So, you start to make your play,
Cause you could've sworn you thought you heard her saying...

    "Good girls don't,
    Good girls don't,
Good girls don't, but I do."

    And it's a teenage sadness
    Everyone has got to taste.
    An in-between age madness
That you know you can't erase
Til she's sitting on your face.

    Good girls don't,
    Good girls don't,
Good girls don't, but I do...

  • George from Vancouver BcPlaying to every teenage boy's fantasies. The only way this could've been a bigger seller was if the Church tried to ban it! Everybody knew, if you were at the discotheque dancing with a hot girl & she was looking right into your eyes while singing along with the lyrics: WINNER! WINNER! CHICKEN DINNER! Found a hot one! Coming out at the height of the ending of the disco era ensured this song was a big winner! I was a bit young to really cash in on this song, as I could only dance at the community dance for minors (no booze, but most of us always had a quarter ounce or more of of BC bud in our jacket pocket for emergencies--decades before it was officially legalized.)
  • George from Vancouver, CanadaI met this girl so many times wsehn young & fell in love every time only to be hurt, of course. . . This dumbass figured it out, finally.
  • Dave from Easton, PaRIP Doug Fieger. At one time the Knack were reviled because of the lyrics to this song and a seemingly Beatle-esque album cover, but the songs were really just well crafted pop rock songs. Great moments in my life corresponded to these songs. Thanks, Doug.
