  • I call you when I need you, my heart's on fire
You come to me, come to me wild and wired
    Oh, you come to me
    Give me everything I need

Give me a life time of promises and a world of dreams
Speak the language of love like you know what it means
Mm, and it can't be wrong
Take my heart and make it strong, babe

    You're simply the best
    Better than all the rest
    Better than anyone
    Anyone I ever met
    I'm stuck on your heart
I hang on every word you say
    Tear us apart
Baby, I would rather be dead

In your heart I see the start of every night and every day
In your eyes I get lost, I get washed away
Just as long here in your arms I could be in no better place

    You're simply the best
    Better than all the rest
    Better than anyone
    Anyone I ever met
Ooh, I'm stuck on your heart
I hang on every word you say, oh
Tear us apart, now, now, now
Baby, I would rather be dead

Each time you leave me I start losing control
You're walking away with my heart and my soul
I can feel you even when I'm alone
    Oh, baby, don't let go

    Oh, you're the best
    Better than all the rest
    Better than anyone
    Anyone I ever met
Oh, I'm stuck on your heart
I hang on every word you say
    Oh, tear us apart
Baby I would rather be dead
    You're the best

    Oh, you're simply the best
    Better than all the rest
    Better than anyone
    Anyone I ever met
Oh, I'm stuck on your heart
I hang on every word you say
Tear us apart, now, now, now
Baby I would rather be dead
    Oh, you're the best

You're better than all the rest
    Better than anyone
    Anyone I ever met

  • Sall from Melbourne, AustraliaCan anyone confirm the correct lyrics - does Tina sing "In your heart I see the star of every night and every day" OR "In your heart I see the stars of every night and every day" OR "In your heart I see the start of every night and every day"

I've seen all three printed in lyrics online and I'd love to know the correct lyric for this line - I'm looking at getting it tattooed and would hate to get it wrong :-)

I've watched a live video of Tina singing it and I am sure she says star - but just listening to Noah Reid sing his version from Schitts Creek and I am sure he is singing start.
  • Dzo from AtlantaTina I love you from the bottom to the top of my heart. I appreciate everything you've done for us. You showed a young boy long ago what a classy woman with power was and I will never never forget it. I love you, I love you, I love you. You will ALWAYS be my first rock star. Happy retirement peace be with you. You will ALWAYS be my private dancer. You're simply the Best!
    Dzo.
  • Phil from Youngstown, OhThis song reminds me of Mario Lemieux's first retirement from hockey. They would play this all the time at the Pittsburgh Penguins home games when he would score in his final season.
  • Alexis from San Francisco, Cayou should try to sing this song on SingStar. FUN STUFF!
  • Ben from Gosford, AustraliaAhhh, reminds me of the old NSWRL adds. "Winfield Cup- making the big game, even bigger!"
  • Teresa from Mechelen, BelgiumSimply The Best : Phil Spector I Presume.
  • Natalie from Austin, TxMy girlfriend wants this sing to be played at her funeral - HILARIOUS!! I'd prefer See you at the crossroads by Bone Thugs.
  • Rennie from Sydney, AustraliaThis song was adopted as the Australian 1990 Rugby Laegue season anthem.
Tina Turner also sang this song in duet with Australian singer Jimmy Barnes.
