Songfacts®:

  • A Day To Remember frontman Jeremy McKinnon explained the song's meaning to Kerrang!: "It's about a friend, or someone that's changed by something happening to them," he said. "It's saying just how people can change when something positive happens for them; it's how success changes some people."
  • Guitarist Kevin Skaff told the story of the song to Chorus FM. "Jeremy had a super simple verse and chorus," he recalled. "He just played it on an acoustic guitar and the band took it over from there. He kind of told us what the song was about and stuff like that, and tried capturing the feel of it in the intro."

"We've never done that kind of intro before," Skaff added. "It kind of has like, I don't even know if it qualifies as a Spanish vibe, but it's kind of got that. You know what I'm saying? I can't remember what that's called… flamenco type stuff.

"It kind of was Americana folk sounding, and then we just made it less for 'Bullfight,'" he continued. "I remember we just needed a bridge, but I don't remember how that came together because it's a pretty wild bridge."
