Songfacts®:

  • This rollicking, feel-good number finds Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Agnetha Fältskog flirting with a love interest. The guy is hesitating as he's unsure whether they already have a partner, so they encourage him to make a move. The girls have "just a notion" that soon they will dance with him throughout the night.
  • ABBA first recorded the song in September 1978, but it didn't make the final cut of their Voulez-Vous album. The Swedish pop band didn't release the song for over 40 years until it became their third single from 2021 album Voyage. Björn Ulvaeus isn't sure why it didn't make it on to Voulez-Vous. "It's a good song with great vocals," he said. "I know that we played it to a publisher in France and a couple of other people we trusted and as far as I can remember they liked it very much. So it's a mystery and will remain a mystery."
  • The new version features an updated backing track with fresh drums and guitars recorded at Benny Andersson's studio in Stockholm, Riksmixningsverket. It keeps all vocals from the original 1978 tracks.
  • The Swedish hitmakers included a 90-second demo snippet on "ABBA Undeleted," a 23-minute outtake medley released on the 1994 box set Thank You for the Music.
  • The ABBA tribute band Arrival recorded the song for their 1999 debut album First Flight. It was the first time ABBA fans got to hear the complete track.
