Songfacts®:

  • West London rapper AJ Tracey has scored a string of hit singles since his commercial breakthrough with "Butterflies" in 2018. He is not shy ramping up the bravado. Here he boasts:

West London call me the savior

Tracey told Apple Music that line is how he feels: "There's a couple of rappers in West London but none doing that beat—just making sure everyone understands," he explained. "There's always gonna be haters, but most people show a lot of love to me in the West. That's what I call home. I do feel like the savior."
  • The song title is not included in the lyrics. Tracey does talk about smoking "cat piss," which is a type of weed.
  • According to Tracey, he made this track with shows in mind. "Everyone is gonna be moshing," he said.
  • The beat comes courtesy of the hip-hop production duo Take A Daytrip. Their other credits include Sheck Wes' "Mo Bamba," and Lil Nas X's "Panini."
  • AJ Tracey co-directed the video with Hamish Stephenson, who also filmed his "Psych Out!" clip. We see the "Ladbroke Grove" rapper spitting his rhymes in his apartment as his friends, all decked out in costumes, vibe out. Tracey joins in the fun at the end, transforming into the Cat in the Hat.
