  • This blistering anthem is a tale of entrapment, a vicious cycle of self-destruction where reason has lost its way. "It's being stuck in a relationship that doesn't work for you, or feeling like you can't stop drinking or doing drugs, or maybe you're stuck in a job that you hate, and you're just battling yourself in your own head wondering 'why am I still here?," explained guitarist Ben Bruce. "Why do I keep doing these things?' Ultimately, at the end of the day we all feel a little bit crazy... a little bit like a psycho."
  • Ben Bruce wrote "Psycho" with Asking Alexandria singer Danny Worsnop, drummer James Cassells, touring guitarist Paul Bartolomé and the track's producer, Matt Good. The five set out to forge a song that could find its place both within the fierce, unrelenting domain of their 2013 hard-rocking record From Death To Destiny and on the anthemic realm of their more melodic 2020 album Like A House On Fire.

"Musically, from a writing standpoint, it was a really enjoyable experience to meld those two eras of Asking Alexandria together and see what that might look like," said Bruce.
  • American musician and producer Matt Good is best known for being the lead guitarist and lead vocalist of the post-hardcore band From First to Last. Good took on the role of co-producer for Asking Alexandria's eponymous album in 2017. Three years later, he stepped into the spotlight as the sole producer for Like A House On Fire.
  • Asking Alexandria released "Psycho" as the first radio single from Where Do We Go From Here? via Better Noise Music on June 15, 2023. Speaking about the meaning of the album title, Worsnop said: "I think it's an internal question we all have from time to time, especially for musicians and especially ones who have been doing it 15 years. There's always the 'What's next?' We kind of passed through a generation. The industry's different. The world's different. And we've gotta figure out, how the hell is this thing working now?"
  • "Psycho" became Asking Alexandria's second #1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay chart when it climbed to the top of the October 7, 2023-dated survey. The song followed the one-week reign of "Alone Again" in November 2021.
