Songfacts®:

  • This is the first ever Trance music song to reach #1 in the UK.
  • ATB is Andre Tanneberger, a German musician, DJ and dance music producer. Tanneberger was showing a girlfriend round his new studio at his home in Germany when he started showing off his instruments to her. He got carried away by a guitar sound he was creating on his new producing deck, forgot about his girlfriend and 3 hours later at 9pm decided to save the track he'd created. He thought that as it was 9pm he'd save it under that name. A few days later, when he was finishing the track, Andre used some whispering vocals lifted from a TV appearance from Spanish model Yolanda Riviera, where she says, "Till I come, 9pm (Till I Come)," hence the title 9pm (Till I Come).
  • ATB had 2 more UK Top Ten hits: "Don't Stop," with vocals by Yolanda Rivera, and a cover of Adamski's "Killer." Tanneberger continued to release singles in his native Germany and other parts of Europe. >>>

  • ATB teamed up with the German producer Topic and the Swedish singer Alexander "A7S" Tidebrink for a remake. ATB released the new version, titled "Your Love (9PM)," on January 15, 2021.

"Your Love (9PM)" is the first-ever official remake of "9pm (Till I Come)." It came about after ATB heard Topic's hit collaboration with A7S, "Breaking Me," and figured their two musical styles could be a good blend.

"I've received so many requests for collaborations, remakes and cover versions of my song '9 P.M. (Till I Come)' but I passed on them all because I was never really satisfied with the sound of the approach nor the final," explained ATB to American Songwriter. "Then I listened to Topic's 'Breaking Me' together with Rudi (management) and we immediately had the feeling that these two sound worlds could fuse together perfectly."

The new version peaked at #8 in the UK and reached the Top 10 in several other countries, including Bulgaria, Ireland, Portugal and Switzerland.
