Songfacts®:

  • This intensely personal John Lees composition could easily be mistaken for a run of the mill mushy song about a lost love, but the knowledge that it was written on the death of his father gives it a whole new meaning. This is a place we all visit sometime in our lives, many of us more than once. "Back To Earth" which is similar in content to the Mike Rutherford song "The Living Years," appears on the album Caught In The Light, and shows the always thoughtful Lees in reflective mood. It would be indiscreet to say more than that. >>>
