Songfacts®:

  • Bea Miller penned "Feel Something" with songwriters Kennedi Lykken, Justin Tranter, and producer Mike Sabath. The downcast lyrics are about a stage in the singer's life when she felt empty inside and was pining for the days when she could experience happiness or even sadness. She explained her motivation for writing the song was questioning whether she's the problem or if it's something we all go through.
  • Hollywood Records released the song as a single on June 21, 2019. Close to a year later it started gaining traction on TikTok as part of the "Euphoria Makeup Trend." The social media movement featured TikTok creators soundtracking their makeup-transformation clips with "Feel Something." Miller admitted to Billboard that it's ironic the song went viral because of the challenge because she's terrible at doing makeup.
  • Bea Miller teamed up with the Portland-bred rapper Aminé for an up-tempo take on the song. The new version. titled "Feel Something Different," can be found on her Elated! EP.
  • Director Gina Gizella Manning filmed the video for "Feel Something Different," which shows what would have happened if a coronavirus pandemic happened in the 1990s. As its characters try to stay connected in a pre-internet world, it ultimately exposes themes of boredom, vulnerability and alienation.
