Songfacts®:

  • "We are Bulletproof : the Eternal" is a sequel to BTS' 2013 songs "We Are Bulletproof" and "We Are Bulletproof, Part 2." The "Bulletproof" series is a play on BTS' Korean name, Bangtan Sonyeondan, which translates to Bulletproof Boy Scouts. According to the group's J-Hope, the name signifies the group's desire "to block out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that aim on adolescents like bullets."
  • The piano-driven cut starts off with Jungkook and V reflecting on their early days before they released their debut album, 2 Cool 4 Skool, in 2013.

    We had nothing but dreams
Nothing but foggy mornings when we opened our eyes
We stayed up all night to dance and sing
    The endless music sheets

The lyric, "We had nothing but dreams," deviates from the title of BTS' debut single, "No More Dream."
  • The song centers on being able to face any obstacle, thanks to the support of their bandmates and their fandom, ARMY.

We are we are together, bulletproof
(Yeah we have you have you)

BTS add that the group has become larger than their seven members because of the love and support of their listeners.

    We were only seven
But we have you all now
    After seven winters and springs

When BTS started in 2013, there were only seven of them, but now in 2020 (seven years later) they have the entire ARMY with them.

  • Rat from A BedI really like the “We were only seven, but we have you all now” part because it’s saying that BTS has been a shadow to the world during debut, but didn’t give up because of us. They always try to make us feel things with their songs. I hope that they don’t forget to be there for ARMY and for each other.
