Songfacts®:

  • This song is a message to the many people - including record company executives - who offered unsolicited advice to Cold as they were coming up: "Go Away!" They have no interest in hearing how they should writer songs or live their lives.
  • This was the first single Cold released - it was issued in 1997 ahead of their self-titled debut album. It was a long time coming: The band had been together in some form since 1986. The breakthrough came when they were championed by Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit, who helped them get a record deal.

I remember seeing this band live on the Tattoo The Earth tour in July 2000 in the parking lot before "13 Ways To Bleed Onstage" was even released. They played this song and the chorus of "GO AWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! GO AWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! GO AWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!" Was ringing in my head for a long time after that and was wondering who the band was that played that song. Years later, after purchasing their s/t album (Second one I bought after "13 Ways") I finally heard this song again and was flabbergasted. I saw these guys live before they were big and didn't even know it! (Well, unfortunately they never really got "Big" but it was still cool)
