Songfacts®:

  • This is the lead single from Contemporary Christian singer-songwriter Dave Barnes's fifth album, Stories To Tell. Barnes gained a lot of recognition after his song "God Gave Me You" became a hit single for Blake Shelton and this was his first release since his breakthrough. The album was recorded in Los Angeles with producer John Fields (Lifehouse, Switchfoot, Goo Goo Dolls, Jonas Brothers, P!nk), marking the first time Barnes had recorded outside of his home town Nashville. It was released on March 13, 2012.
  • Barnes wrote this song after he found out that his wife was pregnant and he was to become a father. "I couldn't stop thinking about the possibility of having a child, he said, "and this song poured out of all those emotions. I've never been as emotional as I was writing this song. I had to stop a few times while writing it."
