Songfacts®:

  • Rawlings wrote this song with Ryan Adams. He admitted to The Sun November 27, 2009 that his memories of writing this tune with the alternative rock singer-songwriter are blurry. Said Rawlings: "It was late one night at a party at my house in Nashville. Ryan started singing something and I played along until he stopped and I realised he was making it up. Then we sang a little more and added another part, then we got predictably distracted by someone or something. When in the next day or two I saw him again I said 'Hey, we should finish that song we were writing' and he said, 'What song?'... No recollection of it at all. So I played him what I could remember of it and we finished it up."
