Songfacts®:

  • The premise of this Jessi Alexander and Jon Randall penned song finds Bentley reflecting on the fact that his time in the spotlight is bound to come to an end. And when that day comes he will "jump off this carousel" with a thankful heart for the good times he's had.

When I go, I'll be another page torn away
A memory made, another ghost on music road
But I can't say, I gave it hell, I rang the bell
But I'll know when there's no more dreams to chase

Though Bentley didn't write the song, he told Rolling Stone Country that he relates deeply to its premise. "Hopefully it's not for a while," he said. "But when it is, I'm out. I have other things I want to do. There are mountains to climb."
