Songfacts®:

  • This song has a direct link with the 2009 Hombre Lobo track "Fresh Blood," about a werewolf who gets frustrated with desire. "I thought it would be interesting if the guy who's singing Fresh Blood, the hunter, becomes the hunted. I'm taking the opposite role of victim," frontman Mark Oliver Everett explained to The Sun.

Everett added that he rarely draws on former glories but this is "an overt attempt at taking inspiration from something in the past and turning it on its head."
