Songfacts®:

  • This is the third single released from Dutch singer Esmée Denters' first album, Outta Here in Europe. However, in the USA and Australia it was her debut release.
  • Denters wrote the song with Justin Timberlake and Stargate in 2008. Stargate and Timberlake also produced the song and the latter provided additional vocals.
  • Denters told the story of the song to MusicRemedy.com: "Me and Justin wrote the song in New York with producers Stargate. They had this really amazing track playing. It reminded me of an old Prince song. Me and Justin started writing coming up with melodies when all of a sudden the words 'love dealer' came out of his mouth. That how the concept of the song started."
