Songfacts®:

  • The lead single from Flo Rida's fifth studio album The Perfect is an anthemic song that finds him toasting the final day of the working week. Flo is joined on the ready-for-the-weekend party tune by Jason DeRulo who croons the hook.
  • Despite its title, the song is not a mash-up of Adele and Rebecca Black's hits. Instead it was penned by Flo Rida with Breyan Isaac, who also co-wrote the rapper's #1 hit "Whistle" and Thomas Troelsen, who contributed to three songs on the My House EP, including the single "I Don't Like, I Love It." Troelsen previously professed his love for the last day of the working week in 2013 when he co-wrote The Fooo's track, "Fridays Are Forever."
  • The song was produced by:

Atlanta based Kane Beatz, whose first big break as a producer was on Trick Daddy's 2006 single, "Tuck Ya Ice." From there, he began working with such artists as Flo Rida, and Nicki Minaj-including her hit single "Super Bass."

Vancouver based production duo T.O.D.A.Y. who consist of Vinay Vyas and Justin Davey. They have developed a strong relationship with Kane Beatz which has resulted in several collaborations. Albums that T.O.D.A.Y. have worked on include Nicki Minaj's The Pinkprint, David Guetta's Listen, and Jason Derulo's Talk Dirty.
  • The song was later flipped to "Hello Summer" by Flo Rida. He recorded the new version to soundtrack ESPN's Major League Baseball coverage for the 2016 season.
