Songfacts®:

  • This DJ Spinz and Southside-produced track from Future's 2014 mixtape Monster is also titled F--k Up Some Commas." It was released as a single on March 2, 2015 and later underwent the remix treatment with features from Rick Ross and Big Sean.
  • "F--king up some commas" means blowing large sums of money. "I wanted the average person to feel like they wanna f--k up some commas," Future explained in his documentary Like I Never Left. "It feel like this is a motivational song. It makes you feel like you have a chance to do it."
  • Future compares himself to Jimi Hendrix in the song's intro when he spits: "Future Hendrix, it's some s--t you don't do." The rapper has been comparing himself to the rock star for some time. He told The Guardian in 2014: "At the end of the day it's not about me. It's about where I'm taking it. I just want to be an inspiration. I'm a rock star, I'm Future Hendrix.
  • The Sean Bankhead-directed music video features Normani Kordei of Fifth Harmony showing off some moves. The singer told Complex magazine that she had a passion for dancing since she was a young child. "Dancing is more than just moving body parts; it is a pathway of expressing your deepest inner thoughts," Kordei explained. "When I dance, I escape the present and become one with my soul. I put my all into performing so people can walk away knowing a bit more about me and feel the passion in my story."

Kordei also shot another video for Teyana Taylor's "Do Not Disturb" the same day. That one was also directed by Sean Bankhead.
