Written during the time of Green Day's awesome immaturity, this song is about a young couple fumbling their way through their first sexual encounter.
A fast-paced punk rocker, "Sweet Children" played well in the sweaty clubs where Green Day often took the stage. A few years later their venues got substantially bigger when they signed with a major label and released their monster album Dookie.
The song first appeared on Green Day's 1990 EP titled Sweet Children, then in 1992 was included on their second album, Kerplunk!

Kathleen from Merrill, Wi I have only heard this song once, but it seemed kind of odd when I first read the lyrics. And like always, Green Day's songs are so in-depth that it's sometimes hard to interpret the true meaning of the song.
