Songfacts®:

  • This was one of the last songs written by Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds for the band's Smoke And Mirrors album. "I came home from tour with my head spinning and decided to run away for a bit to the west coast and reflect/write about the last couple years," he told Billboard magazine. "If you listen closely to the sample of me whistling into my laptop by the ocean, you can hear a wave that crashed while I was recording it. I loved the take because it seemed to crash perfectly in time. It takes me back to that spot every time I hear the song."

  • Bridget from CoTo be honest, I still don't understand the lyrics. But this is a super good song. I even have the Latin translation for the chorus, seeing as I am learning that in school.
