Songfacts®:

  • "Killin' It Girl" is a lust-filled collaboration between J-Hope and GloRilla. J-Hope opens with the chorus and first verse that's equal parts seduction and awe. He breathlessly admires a woman who, according to his math, isn't just a 10 out of 10 - she's a 20. Then, right when you think he's reached peak thirst, GloRilla takes the mic for the second verse and flips the script entirely.

Taking on the role of the object of J-Hope's affection, Glo raps with the supreme confidence of someone who knows she's "Killin it." With her trademark Memphis growl and lyrical swagger, she proclaims herself the "baddest chick alive."
  • J-Hope wrote the song with American songwriters Theron Thomas and Jessica Agombar, along with frequent BTS collaborator Pdogg.
  • Blake Slatkin (Lizzo, 24K Golden), Cirkut (Nikki Minaj, The Weeknd) and inverness created the minimalist beat. Slatkin and Cirkut were also part of the teams that cooked up Sam Smith's "Unholy" and Charli XCX's "360."
  • The music video, directed by Cody Critcheloe (Robyn, Kylie Minogue), is mostly in black and white. There's runway glamor, street hustle, luxury cars and choreography that reminds us J-Hope used to be a street dancer before he was a global pop icon. GloRilla, for her part, prowls through the video with the same no-nonsense energy she brings to her bars.
  • Released on June 13, 2025, "Killin' It Girl" was the third and final English-language single in J-Hope's 2025 trilogy during his world tour Hope On The Stage, following "Sweet Dreams" (feat. Miguel) and "Mona Lisa." The song was made available in two versions: the main release featuring GloRilla and a rendition featuring only J-Hope's vocals. His solo version is less gritty, more dreamy, but still plenty thirsty.
