Songfacts®:

  • During Liverpool FC's run to the 2018 UEFA Champions League final, the Scouse electrician Jamie Webster came up with this football chant. Based on the 1985 Italian disco classic "L'Estate Sta Finendo" ("The Summer Is Ending") by Righeira, it became the Liverpool supporters' trademark song for the campaign. The following year, Webster performed "Allez Allez Allez" to 50,000 people on the eve of the 2019 Champions League final, then to the club's players after their victory.

The song's viral success earned Webster a record deal with Modern Sky UK. He released his debut album, We Get By, in 2020, which reached #6 in the UK albums chart.
  • The single verse namechecks Liverpool FC's European Cup wins in Paris (1979) and Istanbul, Turkey (2005), and two of their legendary managers, Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley.
  • The chorus comprises the single word "allez" chanted repeatedly. The French word for "go," it signifies how Liverpool are moving forward as a club.
